The Hero Street: A Documentary Film Series

Fourth Wall Films’ Kelly Rundle & Tammy Rundle have been producing, writing, directing and editing Emmy and award-winning documentaries and other media projects for over 25 years. They are currently working on a multi-part documentary series about the 8 heroes of Hero Street, USA in Silvis, Illinois.

They have completed four of the nine parts in the series: "Riding the Rails to Hero Street", "Letters Home to Hero Street: Frank Sandoval's Story" (co-produced with Lora Adams/WQPT-PBS), "A Bridge too Far from Hero Street: William Sandoval's Story", and "An Infantryman from Hero Street: Joe Sandoval's Story". 

"The Last to Fall from Hero Street: John Munos' Story" will premiere on November 8th, 2025 on the Putnam Giant Screen in Davenport, Iowa. 

"A World Away from Hero Street: Joe Gomez's Story" is in production and the anticipated release is the fall of 2026.

"A Bridge Too Far From Hero Street: William Sandoval's Story" screens Sept. 30 at Davenport Library--Fairmount Branch

The award-winning documentary “A Bridge Too Far From Hero Street: William Sandoval's Story" will screen on Tuesday evening, September 30th at the Davenport Public Library--Fairmount Branch , 3000 N. Fairmount St., Davenport. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Q&A with Emmy award-winning filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Fourth Wall Films .  “A Bridge Too Far From Hero Street"  follows William Sandoval's journey from a boxcar in Silvis, Illinois to a battle in a forest in Holland. Born into an impoverished family of twelve, Willie performed migrant farm work alongside his parents and siblings until his father took a job with the Rock Island Railroad. The largest daytime air assault of World War II was Operation Market Garden, Sept. 17, 1944. William Sandoval was among them. Premiere Date set for Nov. 8 for "The Last to Fall from Hero Street: John Muños' Story"

The Last to Fall from Hero Street: John Muños' Story, Part 9 in Kelly and Tammy Rundle's Emmy-nominated Hero Street documentary film series, will premiere during Veterans Day weekend Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.  on the  Putnam Museum's National Geographic Giant Screen Theater, 1717 W 12th Street in Davenport, Iowa. The special event is Sponsored by Jennie's Boxcar and the Beiderbecke Inn.  The Premiere Celebration will include music, a special tribute to our Veterans, an encore screening of A Bridge too Far from Hero Street: William Sandoval's Story , and a Q&A with film participants. Advance tickets will be available to purchase in October. P.F.C. John S. Muños  of 2nd Street (now named Hero Street) in Silvis, Illinois entered the Army on January 15, 1951 and served in  Korea  with Co.
